The Event star Jason Ritter has revealed details about the show’s upcoming return.

The actor told the Los Angeles Times that the relationship between his character Sean and girlfriend Leila (Sarah Roemer) will become “awkward” following the revelation that her father could be an alien.

“It’s a strange thing to find out something like that about your girlfriend’s biological father,” he laughed. “I still love her [and] she’s a wonderful lady, but it would have been nice to know that she’s half-alien!”

Ritter also confirmed that viewers will discover more about Sean in future episodes.

He explained: “We’re going to learn a lot more about Sean Walker’s past… in the next couple of episodes, so that’s very exciting.”

However, he dismissed rumours that Sean will also be exposed as an alien infiltrator.

“As far as I know, he’s not, but [the writers] could always spring that on me!” he joked.
