According to About.com it seems Syfy denied The Event miniseries.

Fans of The Event got their hopes up last week that they’d get some resolution, when word circulated that NBC’s sister network, Syfy, was considering executing a miniseries to round off the franchise. The story had some credibility, for two reasons: creator Nick Wauters had been talking since the cancellation about how the show could continue on another network; and the report originally appeared on the influential Deadline Hollywood site.

But Syfy has doused the rumor. “To answer some questions I’ve been getting,” tweeted Syfy digital exec Craig Engler, “at this time we have no plans to pick up The Event.”
