“CLEAR SKIES FROM HERE ON OUT” (TV-PG)
ZEEK GETS HIS FIRST REAL TASTE OF SHOW BUSINESS WHILE SARAH AND MARK GROW CLOSER – Zeek (Craig T. Nelson) lands his first commercial, prompting Camille (Bonnie Bedelia) to reflect on her own achievements. Sarah (Lauren Graham) and Mark (guest star Jason Ritter) take their friendship to a new level while Haddie (Sarah Ramos) and Alex (guest star Michael B. Jordan) grow apart. Meanwhile, Crosby (Dax Shepard) and Adam (Peter Krause) disagree over a minor parenting crisis, Drew’s (Miles Heizer) first date with Amy (guest star Skyler Day) doesn’t go as planned and Jabbar (Tyree Brown) and Max (Max Burkholder) hit a rough patch in their friendship.

KRISTINA AND JULIA RECEIVE UNEXPECTED SURPRISES THAT WILL CHANGE THEIR FAMILIES’ LIVES WHILE SARAH’S PAST TROUBLES RETURN – JASON RITTER AND JOHN CORBETT GUEST STAR – Kristina (Monica Potter) is rushed to the hospital by an unlikely accomplice, while Julia (Erika Christensen) and Joel (Sam Jaeger) receive positive news on a possible addition to their family. Jasmine’s (Joy Bryant) choice of suitors begins to affect Crosby (Dax Shepard), while Sarah’s (Lauren Graham) ex, Seth (guest-star John Corbett), threatens to disrupt her relationship with Mark (guest-star Jason Ritter). Meanwhile, Amber (Mae Whitman) begins to understand Max’s (Max Burkholder) mind and helps him mend his friendship with Jabbar (Tyree Brown). Also starring Craig T. Nelson, Peter Krause, Bonnie Bedelia, Miles Heizer, Sarah Ramos and Savannah Paige Rae.

Ausiello: I can tell you that Jason Ritter will be sticking around at least through December — and very possibly into the new year. His participation beyond that largely depends on how quickly the drama series he’s developing with Parenthood boss (and newly-minted Emmy winner!) Jason Katims takes shape. In other Parenthood news, Joel and Julia’s road to adoption will hit another speed bump when the opportunistic husband of their prospective surrogate Zoe arrives on the scene demanding a piece of the action (read: money). Also, look for Crosby and Jasmine to have “the talk” with Jabbar. No, not that talk. Sheesh, the kid is, like, 10. I’m referring to the “we’re never getting married” talk.

Question: What’s the latest on Netflix or Syfy picking up The Event and doing a wrap-up miniseries? Have you heard anything new in the rumor mill? —Eric
Ausiello: Event leading man (and current Parenthood star) Jason Ritter told me Sunday at Entertainment Tonight’s post-Emmy bash that the project still has a pulse. “I’m waiting to get a phone call either way,” he said. “[Producers] Nick Wauters and Steve Stark are still talking to people and trying to get it done. Every cast member I’ve talked too is interested. And I personally would love to at least finish that story up.”

Question: Any Parenthood scoop concerning Sarah and Mark? I love them together! —Mimi
Ausiello: Well, then you might not like what I’m about to tell you: There’s trouble ahead, and it involves the return of Sarah’s ex, played by John Corbett. “She’s trying to balance Mark and her new life with this man that she has very complicated feelings for,” Ritter explains of Corbett’s Seth. “This is the father of her children and she loves him in certain ways. But she also wants to start anew, and she’s not sure that Mark can take on everything that’s in her life. It’s really interesting. It’s that great thing that Parenthood does. It’s not overly dramatic. It’s just real life.”
